After enjoying a wonderful convention and taking care of a few other things, we headed off to a park to let the kids use up some energy before the drive home. However, before we got to the park our suburban began making a high pitched noise. We quickly pulled into an hotel's parking lot where the the engine began smoking. We wasted no time in parking and got out to take a look under the hood. Come to find out a major belt had snapped because of our conditioner pulley freezing up. Jacob called Bro. McMahon and soon a bunch of the men were over trying to figure out what to do about it. Sorry kids, no park today. It was after 9 that night before we finally figured out what to do. There was no way we were going to be able to go home that night. Our wonderful overseer and wife let us crash at their house after we all got a very late bit to eat.
The next morning more phone calls were made and we found an air conditioner to buy and another church member offered to put it in for us on Monday (today). Another member offered to let us drive their mini van home so that Jacob could go to work today. They had a family member pass away Sat. and will be having to drive up this way for the funeral. I'm not sure of the day they will be driving our suburban up, but we will meet them there to exchange vehicles.
I just love how God works all things out and am SO THANKFUL for all the kindness and help that we have received at this time. We truly have some of the most loving people in this region. God knew what He was doing when He let it all happen in town instead of on the freeway. (That would have been a huge headache and an expensive towing bill.) God is just so good! And His people are SO wonderful.
