One Smooth Stone

Sunday Jacob preached a real good sermon. It was about the stones that David picked from the brook. He picked 5 SMOOTH stones. How did the stones become smooth? From being IN the river. He liken us to the stones. What kind of stone are we? Are we smooth from being totally in the river (in God's Word etc) ? Or are we like some of the stones Jacob had brought with him, had some smooth parts and some rough parts. A couple even had sharp parts. Some of the stones he found not even in or near the river, others he found half in and half out. Are we the stone that is near the river but not letting God have any of His way with us? Or are we the one that is half in and half out? Letting God have His way here and there, letting Him smooth out some areas in our lives, but other areas keeping to ourselves? Or are we like the SMOOTH stones that are ALL THE WAY in the river? Letting God have TOTAL control of our lives, smoothing out all areas in our lives. When we let God work us over and mold us into that smooth stone, that is when God can use us to knock those giants in our lives and in the lives of other DOWN. For when we are smooth, that is when we fly STRAIGHT.

Since most everyone was sick on Father's Day at our church we had our "Father's Day special" this last Sunday. Sis. Davis was in charge. She had the kids tell her what their dad was good at fixing. Which in little kids mind "fixing" was the same as "making". She read off to us what the kids said and then gave the Dad's all a Duck Tape Wallet, since they are such "handy" men to have around. Jacob got his wallet, opened it and piped up "Hey! It's empty, just like my other wallet." lol Anyway, here are pictures of those neat "handy" wallets.

Elijah put a dollar in this one, so it wouldn't be empty anymore.
