Jacob leaves this coming Sunday for TN. He told me that today would be a good day to have a baby. So far nothing is happening though.
Ok, on to the VISIT WITH MY BROTHER MATTHEW!!! (pictures included)
Matthew was here for a week. It was a very full week. Matt, my Mom and Nathan and Ernie all came the same day. That afternoon Josh called and asked if the guys would like to go tubing down our river. It takes a couple hours to tube our river but they had fun. I heard it was a little cooler then they would have liked, but still fun.
We had an invasion of two ant colonies while everyone was here. But we did finally get them beat. Terro works great. It was kinda neat to see all those ants just swarm over the bate that would lead to their deaths.
Codi, Matthew's girlfriend, was also down here visiting her godparents. So we got to see her before she left. Matt went and picked her up and brought her over and we played a great game of IBUY. Although Codi and I lost bad, it was still fun. The older kids and I and Matt, brought Codi back to her godparents and got to see the pigs, chickens and HUGE garden. The kids had alot of fun feeding those chickens.
It was still pretty hot out while everyone was here, so Matt showed the kids how to make their own homemade waterslide. Lots of fun. I didn't get any pictures of that, wish I would have though. While out with the kids, Matt realized just how much of a problem the hornets were at our place. At least one kid was getting stung everyday. That fighter, protect the young, instinct kicked in and it was all out war. Matt vs the hornets. I don't know how many bottles of raid he went through killing them and all the nests he found. He even bought some hornet traps. They were filled the next day. *shaking head* Matt won and my kids haven't been stung since. :)
Moriah was being a stinker while Matt was here and just wouldn't let Matt hold her. It was driving Matthew crazy. This was her reaction everytime Matt came around. Here Moriah had just finished eating some cherries and Matt decided to take a picture of her. Even that was too close for comfort for her. lol
I think she FINALLY let Matt hold her once. She had gotten hurt and Matt was the only one that would give her any sympathy, so she accepted it. :) Hopefully next time she will be a little more friendly toward her Uncle next time she sees him.Jacob took Matt, Nathan and Elijah on a hike at Strawberry Lake. It was a pretty good, long hike, but they said Elijah did real well and kept up with the BIG guys. Jacob also took Matt and Nathan on a hike in Glacier but gave Elijah a break and let him stay home to play with Ernie. Matt just loved the hikes and the beauty that Montana has to offer. I'll post pictures of that hike in a few minutes.
My Uncle David asked Matt and Nathan if they would like to go on a bike ride with him. Sure! He brought them on the back trails through the woods and everything. *smile* Not your normal bike ride. The guys loved it and came home with a fulls days work out.
And of course, we had to teach Matt how to play Settlers. The last game he played Matt actually beat Jacob and Nate. Then it was off to the airport. God had a surprise waiting for Matt there. The flight was overbooked and Matt offered to go on the next flight out. They gave him a FREE TICKET!!! We also had a couple more hours with Matt and so Matt decided to spoil his sister and bring her out to eat along with Jacob and Nathan. What a great brother! We went to the newly opened Hu Hot, a Mongolian BBQ. We all were just sooo stuffed afterward. We went to a coffee shop and hung out while we waited to it to be time to go back to the airport. It was a great couple hrs spent with Matt and no kids.
Alright, on to some pictures of the first hike the guys went on.
Look at the foliage the "men" had to fight their way through.

Once they did make it to Strawberry Lake, it was time to do some swimming! Here is Jacob helping Elijah to swim.

Nate and Matt.

View of the lake. We have alot of forest fires going on around us. You can see the smoke in theses pictures.

I'll post more pictures of their next hike soon.
Please say a prayer for Jacob and all the fires around here. The smoke has been bothering Jacob's allergies, but it seems to be getting worse. The last few nights, Jacob has had a hard time sleeping due to all the smoke in the air. Please pray that God will send the rain to help put all these fires out and for Jacob, that he will be able to sleep better at night.
